Strawberry Shortcake Felds Forever

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out.
It doesn't matter much to me.

What would make Strawberry Shortcake so sad? And I'm assuming that is jam not blood streaming down her cheeks, otherwise this would be way too creepy. (strawberry fields forever by Audrey Pongracz)

Two things: 1) If you've been on the internet, your childhood, among other things, has been destroyed. 2) Some Hollywood studio is probably writing a script for this. (My Cage via The Daily What)

The Villainous Penitentiary Football Team

"What happens when all our favorite villains get locked up in a 1920’s penitentiary with an optional intramural football league?" Ya know, I ask myself that all the time — get busy villain-ing or get busy dying.

OK, don't read the line below if you want to guess at all the characters. I knew 13 immediately, figured out another four and then artist Sean Kernick filled me in on the missing two.

Clockwise from bottom left: Boris, Montgomery Burns, Skeletor, Dick Dastardly, Mumm-Ra, The Peculiar Purple Pieman, Megatron, Green Goblin, Gargamel, Bluto, Joker, Dr. Claw, Murky Dismal, Beastly, Dr. Doom, Destro, Cobra Commander, Shredder, Muttly. (The Villainous from Sean Kernick)

Ninja Turtles Last Stand

And when the final battle came, Strawberry Shortcake mounted her My Little Pony and slew Leonardo, the last of the Teenage Ninja Turtles. I always knew the girls toys would win. (Artist David Finch via The Zeray Gazette)

The Toy Rebellion

"Strawberry Shortcake's the humorless leader of the Rebellion against Brainy Smurf. Never far from her is Kit, a strange, cat-like child found near her dead twin brother after the war. She's emotionless and mute, but follows Shortcake everywhere she goes."

Tom Kyzivat, aka Murderous Automaton, tells the tall of a post-apocalyptic battle of '80s toys against Brainy Smurf, who "overthrew Papa Smurf because he wouldn't embrace science; he just hid behind his magic and superstitions. Afterward he used his science and industry to rule all the lands with a tiny iron fist!"

"Grumpy Bear is the only surviving Care Bear after his homeland was destroyed by Brainy Smurf, so he seeks revenge, along with the other rebels."

I can't wait to see the rest of the series. (Link via The Zeray Gazette)

Cartoon Girls Gone Wild

It appears that She-Ra, Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake all grew up and went to work at Coyote Ugly. I totally saw that coming. By comic book artist Greg Land. (Link via Unreality, originally from Toyfare)

Rainbow Brite Bloodbath

Finish her! An epic battle between Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake as two '80s cartoon-cum-greeting card icons duel to the death. Pop artist Jude Buffum painted the pixelated pair as embroidery for the The Autumn Society's '80s pop show. Be sure to take a gander at all the entries, including Jeff's Care Bear Carnage.

What's with the 1980s? First we went through a massival revival of the music, now the toys and TV shows appear to be having a resurgence. Or am I only noticing because I'm of a certain age? (Link via The Daily What)
