Anatomical Barbie

Some people cut their Barbie's hair, others make detailed anatomical sculptures of their intestines. Too each their own. (Jason Freeny)

Poppin' Fresh and crunchy inside too! Those thousands of pokes to the belly must have been incredibly painful. (Poppin' Fresh Anatomical Sculpt by Jason Freeny)

Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Anatomy

Gooey on the outside, crunchy on the inside. I must admit that I'm more than a little creeped out to find out that there's something else other than marshmallow inside the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man but I suppose he needs something to support all that weight. Super Mario Anatomy

I want a doctor to take your picture, so I can look at you from inside as well. From Jason Freeny, because you were wondering about Mario's internal organs, weren't you?

Mr. Potato Head Anatomy

It's a good thing that Mr. Potato Head doesn't actually talk because his screams of agony when kids pull off his feet and arms would be too much to bear. (Jason Freeny at Moist Productions)

Who knew the Smiley Face had teeth? I guess it would be creepy if they were showing. I mean, not creepier than this, but creepy nonetheless. (Smiley Skull from Jason Freeny at Moist Production)

Hello Anatomy Kitty

Huh. I would have expected it to be a lot cuter inside, or contain the embodiment of all evil. Show what I know — I stopped taking biology in Grade 11. (Kitty Half from Jason Freeny at Moist Production)

Circle, Circle, Dot, Dot, Now You've Got The Cootie Shot

I had always assumed the transmission of cooties was instantaneous from person to person, but it appears that the Ickyus Pediculus Humanus needs to lay eggs first before metamorphosing into an adult before spreading. Just goes to show that the schoolyard doesn't know everything. Nah, nah, nah, nah!

Cootie, another fabulous illustration from Jason Freeny.

Konnichiwa, Dissected Domo

Domo-kun is one of those strange marriages of Japanese and web culture... wait, I suppose I don't really need to add that qualifier as it really goes without saying. I had seem images of Domo all over the web before I actually knew what it was, a mascot for Japan's NHK television station that has become a harbinger of doom in his online incarnation. Know Your Meme can tell you all you need to know.

Anyway, long story short, master illustrator Jason Freeny has shown us all what Domo looks like inside, because we were all wondering but didn't know how to ask. It's the Internet, kids! You learn something you didn't need to know everyday.

Gingerbread Man Dissected

Pop artist Jason Freeny, already having ruined Gummi Bears, makes Gingerbread Men seem like the least appealing thing you'd ever want to eat. They'd be all crunchy, with a chewy, spurting centre.

Hmm, maybe they wouldn't be so bad after all. Head to Moist Production to see the full poster. (Link via Super Punch)

Anatomy Of A Gummi Bear

I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat a Gummi Bear again. The idea that they have a full skeletal system and organs freaks me out a little. I suppose they are soft bones — makes them more chewy than crunchy.

This wonderfully twisted piece of anatomy comes from Jason Freeny, who has similar looks at the innards of Lego minifigs and balloon animals, which all remind me of a series of skeletons of cartoon characters. Faux anatomy is creepy fun.
