Ghostbustland

Thirty years later and Ghostbusters still holds up. Truly a pop culture classic and worthy of a tribute show by Gallery 1988. This is Scott Campbell's Ghostbustland, which will be available as a print.

Adventure Time: Mathematical, Mashupmatical

I am new to Adventure Time. It's a show that I continually saw referenced on my feeds and by artists I follow, but I'd never seen it until the past two weeks when I decided to see what everyone was so enamored by. Now Jake the Dog and Finn the Human are stuck in my head and I decided to look back at what I missed. Consider this a pop culture tribute to the Land of Ooo. Above:
Glob of Thrones by Dan Hipp. Finn wearing his Jake armor is a nice touch.

Oh, My Love, My Darling, I've Hungered For Your Touch...

I said I was done with Bill Murray postings. I lied. They keep pulling me back in! But this isn't from the Please Post Bills show, but another Gallery 1988 show called Ghosts and featuring one of my favourite artists, Scott Campbell. Also, the scene of Venkman and Slimer is sooo touching.

Bill Murray-O-Rama

This, without a doubt, would be the most awesome game of bowling ever held! While it makes sense to have Ernie McCracken as captain, I think Phil Connors would be the best bowler, having had years to perfect his game in Punxsutawney. (Bill-O-Rama by Ian Glaubinger)

"I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never, ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft." (Who Ya' Gunna Call? by Dave MacDowell for Lowbrow Love Letter)

Best Civil War Reenactment Ever

Of course even I'm not sure what Slave Leia's role would have been, but the Stormtroppers, Ghostbusters and pirates make total sense. Damn history classes, always lying to us. (Star Wars Blog via Fashionably Geek)

The King of Busts

Dr. Peter Venkman: The King of Busts by Jon Defreest. I would have imagined him more as a joker, but I'd love to see a whole Ghostbusters deck.

Best Rock Collection Ever!

Of course the reason these rocks and minerals are so rare is because you have to break through the layer of adamantite to get to everything else. This almost makes me interested in geology. Almost.

Who You Gonna Call: Faux-Magazine Busters!

Love Dan Schoening's recreation of the The Atlantic from the magazine montage scene in Ghostbusters, which now includes the oft-neglected Winston Zeddmore. (Link via The Atlantic tumblr, who shamefully did NOT include a link back.)
