The Adventures of Tintin And His Tauntaun

Tintin meets tauntaun at a cool new show here in Toronto, which doesn't happen too often. Or maybe it does. I just heard about Toronto Draws Tintin last night via a tweet. Also, I don't know the artist of this piece is. Anyone?

Update: I am told by reliable sources that this is the work Benjamin Rivers.

Home Sweet Taun Taun

"This beautiful winter get-a-way may smell bad, but it will keep you warm. It comes pre-furnished, includes HD cable service, and is only a 4 hour walk from the nearest rebel base camp."

Seems like I'm on a Glen Brogan kick recently, but the man keeps hitting them out of the park. (Home Sweet Tauntaun via Splitreason)

The Living Dead Strike Back

To commemorate the release of a Star Wars horror novel, artist Matt Busch has recreated all the Star Wars movie posters as zombie films. The originals appear to have vanished from StarWars.com but coreplanets saved the lot. The Living Dead Strike Back is my fave. Love the guts hanging out of the tauntaun, though I can't figure out why Han would have had to cut it open in the first place, other than maybe he just wanted to. (Link via @thinkgeek)

Your Tauntaun Will Freeze, But You Won't

"Use the glowing lightsaber zipper pull on the Tauntaun sleeping bag to illustrate how Han Solo saved Luke Skywalker from certain death in the freezing climate of Hoth by slitting open the belly of a dead Tauntaun and placing Luke inside the stinking (but warm) carcass."
The Tauntaun Sleeping Bag started out today as an April Fool's joke at nerdy retailer ThinkGeek, but due to a staggering response, they are now looking into creating it for real.
"ATTN Tauntaun Fanatics! Due to an overwhelming tsunami of requests from YOU THE PEOPLE, we have decided to TRY and bring this to life. We have no clue if the suits at Lucasfilms will grant little ThinkGeek a license, nor do we know how much it would ultimately retail for. "
But if you do want one, head to ThinkGeek and let them know.
