Art is just coming alive for me since coming across Hillary White. Her latest, Miss Piggy and the Elders based on Artemisia Gentileschi's Susanna ei Vecchioni. I'm like all cultured and stuff now.
My coworker Ron (@boyreporter; Boy Reporter's Nookbook) — who goes well above and beyond — picked me up a kick-ass Sloan poster at from the Toronto Comic Arts Festival this weekend (which I sadly missed), designed by Mike Holmes. I immediately popped on earphones and listened to Twice Removed. Awesome!
I don't need to take a quiz to know that a Snooki is not the right pet for me, though I might feed it vodka on the porch. Enjoy the rest of 14's work at Gallery of the Absurd, at least until the Beliebers see this.
And while a cheap time machine made out of pressboard does sound appealing, entering the dimension-bending maze that is an Ikea store just isn't worth it. See more Sci Fi Ikea Manuals by Caldwell Tanner.
While I had to refer to the legend several times I was still amazed at how many of the hands I could easily identify. What an awesome idea! (The Body Snatcher Hand's Collection by Nicolas Fong, via Geek-Art)
Ah, why'd they have to go and make Tintin over as Han Solo? I had built up such a nice dislike built up about him. (I Shot First by Dan Hipp, via Super Punch)
I really need to pay closer attention - I don't know how I missed Monet's version of Voltron walking through poppies. (Voltron Dans Les Coquelicots by Hillary White, via Comics Alliance)
Eight simple steps to becoming a evil villain by EveryGuyed in honour of Free Comic Book Day. Turns out I'm only 28 Flying Monkeys short of my goal, but the breeding program has really slowed down.
They also have a guide for becoming a hero, but what fun would that be?
When the robot revolution begins I'll have little idea who or what's attacking me as I could only name half of these, at best. (Robots: A-Z at TShirtLaundry, via shitoid)
This image, from the January 1978 cover of Pizzazz, a Marvel pop culture mag, would have blown my mind. Even now it's hard to comprehend the awesomeness. (waxandmilk via Gamefreaks)
Don't you forget about me. Seems like fans of Firefly won't. From artist Kari Fry: "It was a tough call, but I had to make it a direct reference to The Breakfast Club poster, which is five characters. I thought about shoehorning more characters in, but I needed to stay true to the iconic original"
"You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, Greedo: Those with blasters and those who dig. You dig."
Han Solo as Blondie, Boba Fett as Angel Eyes and Greedo as Tuco - taking the space out of the space western. Cool. (The Good, The Bad, and The Fugly by Michael Rapa; via pacalin)
